For decades I have listened to liberals extol the virtues of the Cuban
medical system. It was a disaster of course, but had some propoganda
metrics, e.g. most doctors/citizen (like the USSR had high iron output,
but most of it rotten and unusable). Now, where is this great Cuban
medical system? Apparently, Castro, who should be able to get the very
best in Cuba, has to travel to Spain for a good doctor and good hospital.

George Will once offered the "open door" test. If
immigration/emigration is allowed between two countries, which way do
people flow? We know the answer, many Cubans were desperate to come to
the U.S. and a vanishingly small number of Americans actually tried to
move to Cuba. But liberals still want to import Cuban health care system.
