prop 19: semi legal marijuana in California

On the ballot this fall is a proposition to partially legalize
marijuana in California [2]. Police are obviously against it (most
notably the LA sheriff, Baca being loudly so). The U.S. DOJ (Obama
administration) is against it and threatening to increase enforcement of
federal law if it passes. Sitting governor Schwarzenegger and
candidates Brown and Whitman are all against it. Sitting senators Boxer
and Feinstein and candidate Fiorina are against it [3]. Now, I see
that the top 31 newspapers have mostly come out against it and a few
not taken a position [1].

With such a stellar line-up of anti-freedom forces scared of losing a
lever of control, I don't even know need to argue what a good idea it is.
