On the last segment of "This Week with David Brinkley" today, they
were discussing the Puerto Rican vote on whether to request
statehood (it's non-binding). In reference to D.C. attempts to
gain statehood and its currently constitutional exclusion there from,
the following exchange occurred (from memory):
Sam Donaldson: "The people of Washington D.C. are more important
than that dusty piece of parchment the constitution."
George Will (indignantly): "Nothing is more important than that
dusty piece of parchment the constitution."

Yeah! Now, if only he really believed it.
